Tour 3 Airborne/Utah Beach/Omaha Beach road Trip

No fewer than 9 stops to discover the American D-Day landing area.

This tour will take you to the legendary areas of the 82nd and 101st Airborne divisions : the famous Sainte Mère Eglise and also the lesser knownbut incredible site of La Fière, where American paratroopers suffered more than 700 casualties to capture a bridge over Merderet river.

We then discover Utah Beach : main memorials and beach.

A one hour break is planned for lunch. You can either bring your picnic or have lunch at the Roosvelt, the restaurant of Utah Beach (meal price is not included in the tour).

After lunch, I would also like to share with you the incredible story of two young paratroopers from the 101st airborne who set up an aid post in a church in the midst of the fighting.

Then, we will drive to the impressive La Cambe German cemetery with its 22145 graves.

We then go to Pointe du Hoc, where we will walk along the cliff that was stormed by the Rangers on june 6, 1944.

From there we will go to Omaha Beach where we will stop at the famous « « Dog Green sector » from the opening scene of « Saving private Ryan ».

We will then head to the American cemetery of Colleville sur Mer.

And if you are not tired, there is a bonus stop at Omaha Beach that you will remember !

This tour starts at 9 am and last about 8 hours (the duration depens on trafic and your pace).

We can add or remove stops, depending on your preference.

The tour covers approximately 130 km.
